2017 Blog – Day 4

Camp marches on!

Fresno’s weather is warming up, but that does not stop our girls from having a blast! We completed our last rotation for labs before heading outside to conduct the classic soda with Mentos experiment.

The girls explored the scientific method while discussing how to make the largest volcanic explosion. They questioned the type of soda, the environment, the use of rock salt vs. Mentos–we love our girls’ curiosity and expanding knowledge!

The core class projects are awesome to see. Some classes continue to work on a project for Friday; other classes construct items to improve their knowledge for the final project.

After dinner, we walked over to CSU Fresno’s Downing Planetarium. We instructed three groups to initiate team building activities, such as untying the “Human Knot,” while waiting for the other three groups to finish the Planetarium’s screening, then they rotated. As we close for the night, observing the stars with our newly found knowledge, we eagerly await to wake for our trip to the zoo tomorrow!
